About Me

Hello! Thanks for stopping by. Are you a special needs parent, need help navigating your child’s IEP, feeling overwhelmed, don’t know where to start, want to think outside the box? Well, then you are in the right place! My name is Dana VanCoillie and I am a mom to three AMAZING girls and have a very supportive husband. My one daughter was born missing part of her 22 chromosome and therefore diagnosed with  22q or DiGeorge Syndrome at 2 and 1/2 years of age. She also has ADHD, a developmental coordination disorder, language disorder, executive function deficit, developmental delays, communication challenges, an additional deletion on her 17th chromosome, and what we affectionately refer to as “quirks.” Being her mom has enabled me to see, hear, feel, taste, interpret, and communicate in different ways.

I have learned a great deal on this special needs journey and now I want to help you. I have been there. Laying awake at night wondering what more I could do, nervous to sit at the IEP table, and learning to advocate for my daughter.  When you have a child with special needs it can be so overwhelming to all of a sudden become an advocate for someone you adore.  I am here to help. I will guide you to ask the right questions to get your child what they need.  I am a firm believer in trusting your gut and following your instincts. You know your child best. I will be on your side. I will work with the team to help create a meaningful IEP so your child can reach their greatest potential. Let’s get started. Let’s talk goals. Let’s talk accommodations. Let’s talk supports. Let’s talk IEPs.
